This was a fun end of the year project-- read "Where the Wild Things Are" and then made the wild things on paper with Sharpie.  Used some texture rubbing plates and crayon and then added liquid watercolor.  Cut them all out and made backgrounds with craypas on black paper.  Last but not least was adding their cute little faces into the character Max's wolf suit.  The kids are begging me to take them home!
