Visible Thinking Routines

If you're not familiar with Harvard's Project Zero and Visible Thinking Routines, I highly recommend you check it out.

This particular Thinking Routine called See Think Wonder is something I use all the time  in class.  It encourages kids to critically observe and interpret what they see.  This routine is great to use with any kind of art object.  I recently used it with my second graders when we looked at pieces of art that showed sadness, anger and frustration (see below).  Key questions are:
