Completed Paper Weavings

And here they are...the finished Grade 1 paper weaving pieces.  The final steps were to add linear patterns with collage materials across each line and then add the yarn to the ends.  Two lessons learned: I ended up only letting them choose collage pieces from the basket at their own table.  Otherwise some kids spent the entire 45 minutes wandering around trying to find the perfect piece.  The second struggle was getting the kids to challenge themselves to do more than just an ABAB pattern-- great place to start but they're capable of more-- with some encouragement we saw some more complex patterns emerging!
