Digitally Altered Landscapes

The Grade 2's current Unit Of Inquiry is How the World Works with the central idea, "The Earth is unique in our solar system."  We talked about how landscape artists use the Earth's surface for inspiration.  Each child used Google Images to find a landscape that inspired them.  We put the photo in PowerPoint and they could play with the image- -editing the color, shape, or adding various special effects.  The idea was to make the images more abstract but not changing it so much that it couldn't be recognized as a landscape.  I am very proud of what the kids came up with!
