After our first cool but very labor intensive and messy
mapping project with a pretty unruly group of new kindergartners, I slammed on the brakes and went back to basics with
talking about line. I saw a fun line idea for the little ones over at
Art Project Girl and I decided to put my own twist on it. I really really didn't want to paint with them again. Just kidding. Kind of.
There was one point when they were working on the Sharpie lines and tempera lines that one my squirreliest little group of monkeys were all totally silent, focused and in this magical Zone of Proximal Development Haze. It was a beautiful thing.
So this is what we did:
we drew some lines with cray pas... |
...chopped them up and glued them onto colored paper |
...added lines with Sharpie, then added more with white tempera |
then finish them off with flourescent cray pas! |
Oh my! How I love these! I love the combination of elements. I am studying these works closely ;) Pinning this one!! Thanks for sharing.
